Membership Development
Each year, our chapter hosts events designed to promote membership development and membership engagement. All of the events our chapter hosts throughout the year could fall under this category; however, there are a few that are designed with that in mind.
Summer Membership Picnic
In the past, chapter members, friends and family enjoyed attending the summer Membership Meeting held at Audubon Country Club. After our chapter leadership gave an update on chapter projects, programs, and finances, avid sheep hunter, Chapter Board Member Lowell Stevens, delivered an interesting talk with a fascinating video that placed us in the Himalayan Mountains alongside him on his recent successful Himalayan Blue Sheep hunt.
As this was our annual summer meeting, a delicious picnic themed dinner of fried chicken with all the “fixin’s” was served. A good time was had by all!
SCI Day in the Country
One membership development activity was the popular “SCI Day in the Country” event hosted by Alice and Sam Monarch on their farm in Breckinridge County. This membership meeting event featured specially trained member volunteers manning the archery range, rifle range, tree-stand area, shotgun field, fishing pond and turkey calling station at which our members and their guests could take lessons or just enjoy testing their skills while others enjoyed sitting in the shade while others took advantage of the various hiking trails all followed by a fabulous barbeque and fried chicken picnic.
