Youth, Apprentice & Family Hunter Education Day
This event is for future sportsmen and sportswomen, including novice adults. It is FREE but you must register to participate.

About the Event
This event is for future sportsmen and sportswomen, including novice adults. Participants learn the elements of:
- Woodsmanship
- Marksmanship
- Indigenous game species identification and anatomy
- Tracking
- Blood trailing
- Field care for trophy and meat for processing
- Firearm and hunting safety.
Participants may reach minimum proficiency. Levels through on-rain instruction in the following areas:
- Shotgun
- Rimfire (CMP proficiency level)
- Muzzleloader/blackpowder
- High power rifle
- Archery
- Crossbow
The Program is FREE but must be REGISTERED.
In conjunction with the KDFWR, we will also offer the hunter education and safety course for those without their orange card.

The online course takes most people about 8 hours and can be done in segments.
When you register for the Apprentice hunter program and indicate that you need the orange card, we will email you a link to register for that program about a week before the event.
