Annual Whitetail Sight-in (KYSCI Member Event)

All members are invited to come to the Fern Creek Sportsmen’s Club (FCSC) on September 30, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. 

Guests of the FCSC we will need to be aware of their rules:

               1) We cannot use fully automatic weapons;

               2) No tracer ammunition, explosive targets, or armor piercing or steel core ammunition is permitted;

               3) Alcohol is not permitted on the range but can be served at the picnic afterwards.

Contest:

smallest 3 shot group at 100 yards.  

one-shot competition at 200 yards.  

Each winner will receive a trophy.  The rules for the competition are as follows:

 

The range officer will announce when the range is open for competition and “hot”;

Each competitor will be allowed 5 warmup shots at 100 yards but no warmups at 200 yards;

Each competitor will announce to the range officer when he or she intends to begin a record string of 3 shots for a record group.  Each such group will be marked on the target as a record group by the shooter at the time it is shot.

Each competitor may shoot up to two three-shot groups for the record;

A competitor may use different rifles for each group and/for the 200 yard shot;

When all competitors wishing to shoot have completed their record groups, the range officer shall announce that the range is closed and “cold”.

The best three shot group recorded, measured and certified by the range officer will be the winner of the three shot competition; 

After the 100 yard competition is completed, each competitor may fire his 200 yard shot.  The winner of this competition will be identified by the range officer as the shooter who places his or her shot closest to the center of the target.
