Annie Oakley Day
Annie Oakley Range Day 2022
On June 18, 2022, the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources conducted this year’s successful Annie Oakley Range Day at Fern Creek Sportsman’s Club. Olivia Dangler, Rachel Crume, Becky Wallen and others with KDFWR did a fantastic job and conducted a flawless outdoor event on a beautiful day! We applaud KDFWR for offering new participants a fun, stress-free opportunity to enter into the world of shooting, hunting, fishing and outdoor sports. Your chapter was represented by Bob Edwards and Tom Hebert. We look forward to assisting the Department again next year.
The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources
with the assistance of our Kentuckiana Chapter of SCI,
Quail Forever, and other area sportsmen will be conducting the
Annual Annie Oakley Range Day Event
This in-depth instructional event
introduces women new to shooting
to firearms, archery, crossbows, and fishing.
The event is scheduled as follows:
2023: TBD, check back for more information!
Fern Creek Sportsman’s Club
15400 Brush Run Road
Louisville, KY 40291
Registration is through the KDFWR website or on the Annie Oakley Range Day Facebook page. Attendance is limited to 55 participants and there is no charge for attending and participating in this event; however, as there will be fishing, participants do need a Kentucky fishing license which is available at the KDFWR website or most places where bait and tackle are sold as well as at most local Walmarts.
Since Kentuckiana SCI began assisting with this event in 2008, over 1,300 ladies have fired over 59,000 rounds of ammo. These women are, or will be, future hunters as well as mothers/supporters of the next generation of hunters and sport shooters. It is our goal to demonstrate to these ladies that shooting is an enjoyable and safe sport.
This is one of the most enjoyable, un-intimidating and informative introductions to basic firearms. This event is designed by ladies for ladies and produced by both men and women with a vast amount of experience in firearms and with presenting this info to female newcomers.
It is held in a very comfortable, convenient and safe outdoor setting:
The Fern Creek Sportsman Club
This LADIES-ONLY event introduces participants to all aspects of the shooting sports.
(Shotgun, Rifle, Pistol, and Archery)
It is open to all women over the age of 18 and is FREE OF CHARGE,
but…. reservations are required as this event has become extremely popular and fills up quickly.
